About That One Construction Co.

That One Construction Co. handles roofing, siding, gutters, and windows for homeowners in Minnesota, Colorado, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. We work with homeowners dealing with storm damage who need help through an insurance claim, and with homeowners who just need an honest read on a roof, a set of windows, or siding that has reached the end of its life. About 80 percent of what we do is insurance claim work. The rest is retail replacement work outside of a claim.

Joe Huber Has Worked in Construction Since 1996

Joe Huber founded That One Construction Co. in 2016, but his construction career goes back to 1996, when he got his first contractor’s license and started in roofing. In the years since, he moved into home building, running a company that built homes across Wright and Sherburne Counties in Minnesota. That background shapes how we look at a roof, a wall of siding, or a run of gutters today. We do not treat these as separate, isolated jobs. We see how they connect to the rest of the house: the drainage, the grading, the attic ventilation, the framing underneath. A gutter placed without checking how the yard drains is a problem waiting to happen. A roof reroofed without addressing ventilation ages faster than it should. Thirty years in the trade means we catch the things a single-trade contractor might not think to check.

What Our Customers Say

Don’t Just Take Our Work For It

We Use the Same 50 Percent Standard Insurance Companies Do

We don’t steer people into a full replacement if they don’t need it. That’s not what we’re trying to do here. Insurance companies consider a roof a total loss at 50 percent damage, and we use that same threshold. A lot of contractors call for a full replacement at 10 percent damage because a full replacement pays better. We don’t work that way. If a section can be repaired without touching the rest of the roof, we’ll tell you that, even when it costs us the bigger job. Every crew member is trained to this standard, not just the people who talk to customers.

About 80 Percent of Our Work Is Insurance Claims

We’ve run hundreds of insurance claims. We have staff whose daily job is talking with insurance companies. We meet the adjuster on-site, document the damage, handle the estimate submission, and push back when a claim comes in underpaid. Most claims resolve in around 30 days. Contested ones take longer, and we’ll tell you that upfront instead of promising something painless. The claim itself has to come from you, the homeowner, since that’s a legal requirement we can’t work around. But we handle as much of the rest of it as we can, so you’re not learning an entirely new language just to get your roof, siding, or windows replaced.
We Are Privately Owned, With No Outside Investors
That One Construction Co. is not backed by private equity. There is no fund somewhere deciding which jobs are worth doing right and which ones aren’t. A lot of our current crew came from companies that were bought out by private equity firms, and they know the difference. We think independence matters here. It means the standard of a job doesn’t change based on what protects someone else’s margin.
What a Job With Us Looks Like

Before we start, we send you a prep email that explains what to expect: what the crew will do, what to have ready, how long the work should take. Most roofs are finished in a day, though we tell people to plan on two just in case. When we’re done, we do magnet passes for stray nails and protect your landscaping the entire time we’re on-site. Making sure it looks like we weren’t there is not an extra step. It’s part of the job.

We install CertainTeed shingles as our preferred roofing product and we’re ShingleMaster certified. For siding, our top choices are Mastic for vinyl and LP SmartSide for engineered wood. For windows, we work primarily with Marvin, a Minnesota company that’s still family owned. For gutters, we fabricate seamless aluminum gutters on-site, sized to the house rather than whatever was there before.

Serving Minnesota, Colorado, Wisconsin, and Wyoming

Minnesota is our primary market: Wright County, Sherburne County, and the Twin Cities metro. In Colorado, we work across the Denver metro and the Front Range. In Wisconsin, we’ve handled storm-driven work in and around Eau Claire. In Wyoming, we serve Cheyenne out of our Denver office. Every market runs on the same standard: an honest assessment first, then the work, done right.
