On June 29, 2014, the National Weather Service confirmed an EF1 tornado touched down about two miles north of Oregon just before midnight, causing extensive tree damage. A decade later, on June 22, 2024, a separate windstorm snapped large limbs off trees near the intersection of Janesville Street and Oak Street, with some falling onto power lines.
